The Prodigy | Experience
For me, The Prodigy Experience is the best dance record EVER - bar none. The sheer attention to detail beats any other dance act hands down, but there's more to it than that. Each song has a totally different feel to it, and this is an extremely rare thing nowadays considering how hard it is to find DJs who sound different from
each other, nevermind a DJ who constantly innovates with every track. The album starts with 'Jericho', a hard hitting piece of trance which has what is possibly the best chorus of any dance track EVER.

Ever bought an album and found songs on it which you have heard before, but didn't know who they were by at the time? This album constantly suprised me with almost every single being something that I'd heard years earlier, and liked. 'Charly' wasn't instantly recognisible, due to the fact that there is a different mix on the album to the original mix of the single, but once I'd bought the single the memories came flooding back. The same was true of 'Everybody in the Place', with a remix hindering my instant recognition of it, but I recognised 'Out of Space' the moment I heard the opening keyboards.

When you hear people talk about Liam Howlett as being the best DJ in the world, you would be understandably sceptical, having only heard 'Breathe' and 'Firestarter'. However, once you delve into the Prodigy's extensive back catalogue it becomes apparent that Liam Howlett is a pure musical genius. He really
is the best DJ in the world!

Since the best mixes of the singles are actually on the singles themselves, I suggest that you try and get hold of those as well, because there are also some cracking B-sides on them also. The 'Out of Space' single is particularly worth buying, because it contains a live version of 'Music Reach', a remix of 'Ruff in the Jungle Bizness' which is better than the album mix, and a remix of 'Out of Space' itself, which is well worth a listen. If you're into the fast, frentic side of dance music, you'll love this. For me, things simply don't get much better.
